Oracle Alta Mobile Windows Native ThemE Visual Design System

THE CHALLENGE

DESIGN ALL THE COMPONENTS THAT CONSTITUTE THE ORACLE ALTA MOBILE WINDOWS NATIVE THEMED VISUAL DESIGN SYSTEM

My goal was to design all of the components for the Alta Mobile Windows Native theme visual design system so that they would look like they belonged within that environment, yet still retain the Alta Mobile brand. This design system would then be used by the Mobile Application Framework (MAF) and the JET Mobile development teams within our UX Middleware Group. This was accomplished in the following ways:

  1. Design each component so that it looked like it belonged within the Windows native design system.

  2. Use the Oracle Alta Mobile pallete colors when designing each of the components.

MY ROLE

I designed the majority of the Oracle Alta Mobile Android Native themed components that constitute that visual design system.

In addition, I worked alongside an Interaction Designer, our Product Manager and received approvals for the designs of each component from our Creative Director as well as the Vice President of the UX Middleware Group.

I created all of the visual specifications for the components I designed, as well as collaborated with Engineering to ensure successful design implementation for all the designated states of enabled, pressed, hover, disabled, selected, selected hover, and disabled hover.

THE IMPACT

The Oracle Alta Mobile Windows Native Theme Visual Design System was considered very successful in that we had achieved our goals. It was also very well received by:

  1. Our Customers base who implemented the components within the applications /products they were creating with our technology.

  2. Our Engineering teams as we worked with them to ensure successful implementation.

  3. Our Management as the components within the visual design system met the requirements that we had received from Product Management.
